Introduction to Psychology exists as a part of the Behavioural Sciences & Psychology degrees, as well as the general curriculum degrees under the School of Social Sciences. The major goal of this course is to provide a broad overview of the field of psychology and the numerous ways that psychology interacts with the world.
This course is designed for freshmen.
The course sets the foundation for higher level courses that the student must take. This course is designed to assist the student in acquiring a specialized knowledge base, about behaviour, learning new ways of thinking about behaviour and in developing positive attitudes.
The knowledge learnt in this course would enable the student to explore the major subfields of psychology through critical, creative and reflective thinking. This course will also assist the student in understanding the qualifications of and differences among professionals in the field.
