Course overview: This is a course on qualitative research methods, which exposes students to a basic understanding of qualitative research, the research process, the methods available in qualitative research and the interpretation of research findings. Issues relating to the validity and reliability and ethical considerations are covered. The course raises some interesting and sensitive issues for discussion. Some persons may have personal experience with some of the issues, but students are advised to approach this course with an open mind so that they can engage in critical and objective thinking.
